Gratsi
Privacy policy · Effective June 12, 2026
Gratsi is built so that we know nothing about you. The app has no servers, no accounts, no ads, and no third-party trackers or analytics. Your bills, tips, history, photos, and location are never sent to us — because there is no "us" to send them to.
Data we collect
None. Gratsi does not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
Data stored on your device
Saved calculations, settings, and the data shown in the optional Home Screen widget are stored locally on your device (and in your device backups, which you control through iOS). Deleting the app deletes this data. You can also clear your saved history at any time inside the app.
Receipt scanning
When you scan a receipt, the image is processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework to read amounts like the bill, tax, and service charges. Receipt images are never uploaded by Gratsi.
Location and nearby search
Gratsi requests your location only when you tap the Nearby option to label a tip with a restaurant. The search itself is performed by Apple Maps, which means Apple receives the search area and query under Apple's privacy policy — the same as when you use the Maps app. Gratsi itself never stores your coordinates or sends them anywhere; only the place name you choose is saved, on your device. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings at any time, and every other feature of the app works without it.
Analytics
Gratsi contains no analytics or tracking code. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as download counts or crash reports) from users who have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in their iOS settings. That collection is performed by Apple's operating system under Apple's policy; it does not involve any code inside Gratsi and is never linked to you by us.
Children
Gratsi has no accounts, no social features, and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If Gratsi's privacy practices ever change — for example, if a future feature requires a network service — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described plainly.
